The Divide
Imagine sitting in the lobby of one of the elegant hotels of the 1800’s and 1900’s sipping a libation of your choice and smoking a cigar alongside Mark Twain, Babe Ruth or maybe JP Morgan. Perhaps you prefer standing around a fire relaxing with a cigar swapping tall tales with men driving cattle to the railhead.
There is a certain nostalgia we experience when taking the time to sit back and enjoy the ritual of cutting, lighting and smoking of a quality cigar. Dating back to the introduction of tobacco to Europe by Columbus, the cigar has been part of day-to-day life.
TL Johnson embraces the connection cigars create with our past and the events that shaped our history. We are reaching back into history to introduce the modern smoker with the cigars of our great grand-fathers.
“The Great Divide” was originally made in the early 1900’s by a small Colorado factory that become one of the preferred cigar makers of the region as territories transformed into the states we know today.
Our latest release of The Divide is a mild cigar with a Connecticut wrapper consistent with its’ predecessors of the early 1900’s but has the added complexity of flavor demanded by a modern aficionado.
